Description:Responsible for analyzing and resolving desktop, portable, printer, peripheral, hardware and software problems including desktop network connectivity issues utilizing available resources. In addition is required to identify, rectify and communicate effectively any issues the customer may have regardless of technical nature as it relates to customer satisfaction. This position is primarily dispatched however may be dedicated to a customer’s site for extended periods of time.

Responsibilities

  • Effectively communicate orally and in writing with customers, coworkers, vendors and supervisors.
  • Possess good organizational skills
  • Manage service call load to attain a 10 hour response time and 8 hour fix time upon notification of parts arrival
  • Maintain a personal parts inventory in an efficient and effective manner
  • Work and function efficiently either individually or in a team oriented environment
  • Possess good math skills
  • Assist in planning and coordinate onsite efforts for projects
  • Fill out work orders
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 2 years of experience with troubleshooting, diagnosing and repairing computer hardware, printers, configuration, software and operating systems.
  • 1 year of experience with workstation network connectivity.
  • A+ Certification, Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM) Certifications, CNA or MCP, Network +, Compaq ACT / ASP
Working Knowledge with respect to:
  • Computers, Multiple Operating Systems (including Dos, Win3.1, Win 95 all revs, Win 98 all revs, Win NT, Win 2ooo, Apple OS, Linux, Drive duplication / imaging, Knowledge of Applications – installation and troubleshooting, Hardware Diagnostic Utilities
  • All types of Printers (i.e. dot matrix, Inkjet, Laserjets, local and network, color, black & White), including troubleshooting, diagnosing and repair
  • Peripherals (including but not limited to internal & external modems, sound cards, video cards, network interface cards, SCSI adapters, storage devices, memory, etc.)
  • Network Connectivity (client / workstation specific) Novell and Microsoft
  • OEM Warranty Procedures – all manufacturers serviced at ESI
  • Appropriate OEM Resources (i.e. manuals, resource CD’s, Internet, etc.)
  • Set up and configure network printing devices
  • Network Administration (client / workstation specific) Novell and Microsoft
  • Portable architecture (i.e. laptops, handhelds)
